Excellent materials, construction and fit. Also quite attractive. Far superior to the Marware case and half the price. I have used the latter for about 6 months, and have had to apply tape and glue to keep it functional. Having dropped my iPhone three or four times with no damage, any case is better than none but the Kroo really is impressive, especially for the money. I consider it one of my better Amazon purchases.

Unable to perform Translation:invalid textBest iPhone / iPod clock radio docking station, I searched long for a combo box, clock radio and docking station for my iPhone. Although there are several on the market, I wanted something that was so little space as possible on my bedside table is a display with big numbers, so my iPhone, music is my iPhone as an alarm signal instead of radio, and was easy to charge.

I found it! The Sony clock radio is great and has tons of features. I like the large backlit display, which has different settings depending on the brightness that you want the light in the night. Setting the alarm is very easy to follow (GO) back in hours and minutes without passing completely through the cycle as the most hit, and there are two alarm settings. You can set an alarm for weekdays, you get up for work, then a separate notice for the weekend. Pretty cool.

The snooze button is large and beautiful above the camera and leave the standard 10 minutes repeating, or you can press the snooze button and extend the duration of 60 minutes in increments of 20 minutes. One interesting feature.

There is a sleep timer so you can listen to the radio or iPhone / iPod music during sleep. For the alarm, you can get a buzz, AM or FM radio or a melody from your iPhone, and it works very well.

Buttons on the front and side airbags are nice and big, so you do not have to grope in the dark, and there are a number of customizable settings.

The best part is the hidden slide-out compartment housing. Pop It Off when you download your iPhone / iPod, or listen to music through the speaker of the clock, and push back if you do not need, so that the unit of fingerprints as small as possible. The tablet comes with a docking adapter, iPhone or iPod. I use my own or without an adapter, because I have a protective case on my iPhone, but fits well.

Reading my mind again, I speak as an employee of Sony, but I'm not. Unrelated to the product, other than I am a satisfied customer and highly recommend this unit for those looking for a docking station / clock radio for your iPhone or iPod. There are also many other functions that go here. Have fun exploring all the great things Sony are thinking about this unit.

Belkin Slim-Fit Case for iPhone

Belkin's Slim-Fit Case for iPhone is a holster-style case that's quite similar to the Elan Holster case from Griffin Technology that I reviewed here in July. They're both crafted of black leather, priced at $---, and come with a low-profile belt clip so you can easily slip the whole affair into a pocket if you wish (or if you're not wearing a belt).

I like both holsters a lot but the Belkin has a couple of features I like better than their Elan counterparts as well as one I don't much care for.
First, it's a little easier to slide the iPhone in and out of the Slim-Fit case than the Elan. With the Slim-Fit case I never missed a call because I couldn't slide the phone out of the case fast enough. The Elan is a tighter fit and I did miss a call or two because I couldn't get the phone out of the case in time. I'm not convniced this (the looser fit) is a good thing but so far it hasn't caused me any trouble and I prefer it slightly over the Elan's tighter fit.
Second, the closed end of the Slim-Fit case is made of some sort of open mesh material (which, unfortunately, can't be seen in the picture below). Since the iPhone's speaker is on the bottom edge, the mesh makes it much easier to hear when the phone rings. The Elan, on the other hand, has a solid leather bottom that muffles the ring tone sound a bit.
To be fair, the Elan Holster has a nice feature not found in the Slim-Fit -- the belt clip is removable and can be configured so you can either carry the phone sideways or upright. The Slim-Fit belt clip is permanently attached in the upright position.
The one feature I don't care for -- the silver strip embedded into the leather on the top of the case -- can be seen in the photo above. I don't like the dorky design or Belkin's name, both of which can be seen better in the close-up below.

Maybe it's me, but I resent having to pay for the privilege of advertising a brand name. While the Elan Holster does have Griffin's name embossed in the leather, that's much more subtle than the Slim-Fit's tacky silver adornment.
The Bottom Line

I like everything about the Belkin Slim-Fit case except for the garish silver strip on its front. Given a choice of this case or the Griffin Elan Holster, I'd have to flip a coin.
